How a Vision Board Can Help Your Business

by Latifah Abdur

Manifestation is incredibly powerful. It isn’t magic, but it can feel like it! Tools such as a vision board can help you get exactly what you want.

What is a Vision Board?

As the name suggests, a vision board is a tool that allows you to visualize your goals. They can be created physically on poster board or digitally through apps like Pinterest. Having a physical object to look at each day can remind you where you’re headed within your business. People that use them often begin their day by looking at it and seeing how far they’ve come to that point. Much like goal-planning, it’s important to choose a medium that you’re more likely to look at daily.

How to Make a Vision Board

Now that you know the basics, you’re probably wondering where to get started. As mentioned earlier, Pinterest is a great way to gather images that encompass your goals. They have an easy interface that allows for quick and specific searches. They’re also known for providing aesthetically pleasing imagery so you can create a cohesive piece.

Be sure to set some time aside for this task. Your end result should be something you’re proud of and can realistically use for your business. While you do want to make it pretty, you also want to make it practical. Incorporating inspirational quotes or motivational words is great, but you want to make sure they capture the essence of what you’re trying to achieve. Your vision board should feel authentic to both you and your business. It should excite and motivate you and your team toward the future.

Start off by checking out your list of goals. Pick a few to highlight on the board that will tell a coherent story. Alternatively, you can make several different boards for each of your different goals. Whichever method that will keep you the most organized is ideal here. While creating your boards, keep these factors in mind:

  • Your audience and clientele
  • Your location
  • Your typical projects

The bigger your visions, the better your board will be. The possibilities are endless with this! Having physical images to look at makes your goals seem more tangible. They’ll be there to remind you of where you were and where you’re going. As Walt Disney famously stated, “if you can dream it, you can do it!”
